Since you haven't stopped being rude just because I asked, I have emailed listmaster. Russ's recent posting is a useful contribution to the substantive question. I agree with it entirely. But as I say I don't think we need to resolve this. I'm glad to see that people are making https more available and I look forward to seeing it being more widely used by apt.
