On Jessie without installing cups and the required packages, two browsers: * Iceweasel provided by iceweasel_38.8.0esr-1~deb8u1_amd64.deb * Firefox-esr provided by firefox-esr_45.3.0esr-1\~deb8u1_amd64.deb
face temporal freeze (for about a minute) when print menu selected (or Ctrl-P) or print preview menu. This happens on both two different core-i5 laptops. After trying some things including gdb, I found that if I install cups (and the required) packages and restart the browser, the problem disappears even after such cups packages are uninstalled. During the freeze especially by print preview, sometimes I have the message like: Warning: Unresponsive script chrome://global/content/printUtils.js:408 Unresponsive script chrome://global/content/printUtils.js:408 As the cups package is not required by both browsers, I think I have to treat this as a bug.
