Thanks for the idea, but I found a different resolution.
$CMAKE_INSTALL_LIBDIR returns "lib/$triplet" when install prefix is /usr.
The other problem I was having in packaging was that the project() line was
after the include(GNUInstallDirs) and it needed to be before.
