Thanks for your interest in the package. I am the submitter and I haven't gotten any feedback so far on the package, so I assume it is simply waiting for somebody to have time to review it. It is almost identical to the current mariadb-5.5 package in Debian, so there shouldn't be any actual issues - we just need to wait.
