Say that I use a screen reader. Someone helps me installing debian, configures the volume level to non-zero and then I am on my own.
After a while some package decides to install PA, then the audio is gone, then I'll need someone to come over a second time to help me with that. So yes it applies to ALSA as well, but it's harder to configure and since it tends to get installed by surprise, it can break things in unexpected moments. -- Salvo Tomaselli "Io non mi sento obbligato a credere che lo stesso Dio che ci ha dotato di senso, ragione ed intelletto intendesse che noi ne facessimo a meno." -- Galileo Galilei http://ltworf.github.io/ltworf/ -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-devel-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
