My experiences with one of these tools (IIRC retty, but I'm not sure) a few years ago were not very successful so I did not take this option into account. Haven't tried any other tools since then. Additionally, rescueing apt or aptitude if the according tool is not yet installed is likely impossible without killing the running apt/aptitude to install that tool. But yeah, if we have options which are not much work, but assist the admins in the dist-upgrade a lot, all less comfortable or rough options, like this, can be ignored. Thanks for the comment anyway. I learned that there is more than one tool which could fetch a running program into screen. :-) Regards, Axel -- ,''`. | Axel Beckert <a...@debian.org>, http://people.debian.org/~abe/ : :' : | Debian Developer, ftp.ch.debian.org Admin `. `' | 1024D: F067 EA27 26B9 C3FC 1486 202E C09E 1D89 9593 0EDE `- | 4096R: 2517 B724 C5F6 CA99 5329 6E61 2FF9 CD59 6126 16B5 -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-devel-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
