I also test to build mysql-workbench on Launchpad with mysql-connector-c++_1.1.0~bzr895. It looks quite strange.
The request is still going on. But you can see the logs that builder has been turned off. We can see deb package can be built. I think both Debian buildd and Ubuntu launchpad are using pbuilder as the build system back-end.
