Hi, since Steffen Moeller started a thread about paying Debian Developers, I got the idea to ask the Debian community about it's opinion about "Guaranteed minimum income"[1]. I've heard about the concept some weeks ago in a talk by Götz Werner[2] and imediatly felt in love with the idea. I'll give a lightning talk about it in two weeks at Google Zürich's Open Source Jam and intend to propose a talk about it at next years FOSDEM[3].
The connection between Free Software and basic income are obvious IMHO: It's hard to earn money with things you give away for free. Basic income gives you the freedom to work on things you like without the need to earn your income from this work. If this topic is not appropriate for this list, I beg your paddon. Nevertheless I'd be glad to hear more opinions on this topic.
