Dear Debian developers, Bidding adieu to the old Fortran compiler and using gfortran is one of the proposed Lenny release goals[1]. However, the showstoppes, definitely, are lapack3 and atlas. There hasn't been any movement on that side, and it seems that the packages could do with some help.
This has been a long standing issue. Also, Atlas does have new upstream releases, albeit not declared "stable". However, I feel that must also be packaged for Debian. As for me, I am not a Fortran or a compiler expert. But I will definitely help in testing any releases which you make, since that is something in my capability. Thanks. http://lists.debian.org/debian-toolchain/2007/07/msg00000.html -- Kumar Appaiah, 458, Jamuna Hostel, Indian Institute of Technology Madras, Chennai - 600036 -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
