The important word in the sentence was: _threaten_. Maybe it's a native/non-native speaking issue, but in french "menacer" is quite a strong word. "Do answer or foad" is wrong. "please remember that if you aren't able to follow-up, it's likely that this bug will rot and eventually be closed because of this lack of follow-up".
