The aalib now in unstable has undergone a transition involving a library package rename. As part of the slang2 upgrade, this new release of aalib also improves the dependency situation, so packages that previously inherited a dependency on slang1 via aalib will no longer have an explcit dependency on any version of slang once they've completed the transition. All maintainers of packages depending on aalib need to fix their build dependencies and rebuild their packages.
aalib1 has been renamed to libaa1, but a dummy package exists to keep dependencies functioning. After a suitable interval for packages to be updated this dummy package will be removed and bugs filed on any packages that have not yet been updated to use the new libaa1 package. aalib1-dev has been renamed to libaa1-dev. There is no transitional package, as this (mostly) only affects build dependencies. If your package build-depends on aalib1-dev, simply changing the build dependency to libaa1-dev and rebuilding is all you need to do, as long as your package uses aalib-config to link with aalib. If your package does not use aalib-config, now would be a good time to fix that. The following is a list of maintainers of packages that depend on aalib1 and need to be updated. Note that some of these packages only depend on aalib due to linking with sdl; simply rebuilding those packages once the sdl library has itself been updated should be enough to fix them.
