This risks serious practical problems. If your package is routinely built with a compiler other than the Debian default, problems which would arise from doing so can go easily undetected. Someday, someone else will need to upload your package (e.g., the security team), but the package could fail to build, fail to work or change in subtle ways. -- - mdz
