perhaps a soname change should not be considered a "real" package name change and be accepted automatically? this should not be too difficult to implement and could include other checks as well (like that the copyright didn't change or that the diff is under a given size). so the question (to ftpmaster) is: have there been any cases yet where such a solution would have done something wrong? cu robert -- Robert Lemmen http://www.semistable.com
