let's file a bug against vim, since it changes conffiles also. you are making an assumtion that this program will modify conffiles by the simple act of being installed. Debian Policy v 3.5.10.0 § 11.7.4. Sharing configuration files The maintainer scripts must not alter a `conffile' of _any_ package, including the one the scripts belong to. adam, are you willing to state, package unseen, that the maintainer scripts are modifying any conffiles? if so, could you please send me next week's California Lottery numbers? daniel, i for one think that this package will be a very welcome addition to the archive, and could have used it about three weeks ago. -john
