It had to be pointed out to me that, choking or not, apt is also fairly important to have on the system. :) So perhaps a sub-port consisting of a static libstdc++ library, together with statically-linked versions of groff and apt, would satisfy the needs of i386 users? -- Steve Langasek postmodern programmer
