Sometimes I have problems with the mouse: It does not appear to respond to
mouse movement.
The last two messages were produced when I did have trouble with the mouse.
On the latest occasion, there was severe file system damage: I lost
/usr/X11R6/lib
The ifconfig message appeared to be produced during boot.
