PACKAGE: ncurses VERSION: 1.9.8a-1 An attempt to use the kbs capability in a linux VC failed. My BS key produces ^?, not ^H, and the compiled-in linux terminal definition seems to have kbs set ti ^H (infocmp linux doesn't work, so I can't check, but ctrl-h acts like the BS key should).
IMO, the backspace key should be recognized as kbs, and the DEL key as kdch1. [EMAIL PROTECTED] (Bill Mitchell)
