Because I have no opportunity to confirm before the etch release whether the
bug really makes the package unusable for most people, I was not prepared to
remove the package for etch over this issue, and I don't intend to delay the
release of etch r0 while it's being investigated.

If there is confirmation that the bug renders the package "unusable or
mostly so", then yes, it would be appropriate to remove the etch-ignore tag,
though that probably means fixing it for etch r1, not for etch r0.
