I'm slightly confused as to why the proposed patch fixes things (I
don't have a PPC here). I did find there were weird assumptions going
on to do with float sizes and packing, and fixed a few of them, so I
guess this is the same issue. I /think/ that Charles' patch is just
an application of the patch I've already done (hence the insertion
of comments with "AMB" in) to fix exactly this issue. IE I don't there
is anything to apply to mainline, yes?
