As I'm going to upload 0.3.5-1 soon, could you please test if you can reproduce this problem with 0.3.5-1 Add "deb-src http://debs.michaelbiebl.de unstable main" to /etc/apt/sources.list, run "apt-get update && apt-get build-dep upstart && apt-get source -b upstart" and install the resulting debs. (Sorry for the inconvenience, I don't have a x64 machine to build the packages myself).
