Package: hal
Version: 0.5.8.1-6
Followup-For: Bug #370186

Simply to add that this problem is real.

with hal running:

Insert a dvd, it will spin up and keep on spinning.
Stop hal and after a few moments dvd stops spinning by itself.

without hal running:

Insert a dvd, it will spin up. After a few moments dvd stops
spinning by itself.

I accidently left a dvd inside the drive a few days ago.
Today drive produces a annoying buz indicating it will probably
break down soon. Before that I could never even hear the drive
when spinning.

Ernest.
