I hotplug my usb midi device (UM-1X) to my computer; so snd-usb-audio and snd-usb-lib modules get/are loaded. HAL detects and sees that device very well. But Rosegarden-like applications fail with a message like "snd-midi-seq module not loaded!". That module is supposed to load when an usb midi device is hotplugged; imagine a new linux user in front of his computer with an error like "/dev/whatever not found!".
