Hi,

        Apparently, the bug is only triggered when emacs21 is
 upgraded; I removed bongo to let the rest of emacs install (I could
 not remain long with a semi-functional emacs), and then I reinstalled
 bongo:

        Feel free to downgrade the bug; though I think this is still
 important, since Sarge -> Etch upgrade paths wil need emacs21 to be
 upgraded.
