I don't claim this bug to be RC (you can downgrade if you think it's not),
but I strongly recommend that it's fixed properly before entering testing.

I know that I'm not asked to maintain debian/debstd in the tcptrace
package, but I feel very uncomfortable with the idea that it took me
one year to fix #270900 (a bug which should have been serious if it
wasn't because removing debmake would create even more RC bugs), and
then people "prefer" to use their own jurassic debian/debstd.
