I am quite sure avahi and the whole mdns foo formerly were depends of
the gnome desktop, that's why I got them installed. As I noticed this
misbehavior the first time (resolving does not work partially or
completely after avahi / mdns foo was installed due to gnome install on
my local .local domain) and tried to remove avahi, it was about to
remove gnome as well. Very interesting for me, if I try to remove it
now, gnome would not be removed as well. As I have no real use of avahi
this is probably the best way for me to solve the bug, remove it and it
is done :) but I will test your suggestion tomorrow nevertheless and
keep you informed. I had a tough morning, day, evening, night and I am
about to fall asleep right here at my desk... so see you tomorrow!

thanks
Michael
