I'd suggest the approach I ended up taking -- namely, moving /usr/bin/pycentral aside, upgrading to 0.3.0.r2-2, and moving pycentral back: # mv /usr/bin/pycentral /usr/bin/pycentral_ # apt-get install gtk-recordmydesktop # mv /usr/bin/pycentral_ /usr/bin/pycentral (The old prerm script checks whether pycentral is available and, in its absence, falls back on an alternative approach that doesn't bother checking for Python-Version:.) I hope this helps; have a nice day. -- Aaron M.
