First of all: Sorry, if I (re)act wrong, but that's the first Debian-bug I commit - should I have sent it to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
I purged nvidia-glx and all packages aptitude proposed (I really marked all of them as "purge") and switched to the "nv" driver. xmms still segfaults on startup, but with gdb I don't see any library. xmms was certainly running before I switched to nvidia-glx (it was missing long time from etch and I installed the proprietary nvidia-driver the nvidia-way, version 9629). I certainly didn't make any major changes since. Because aptitude proposed, I switched from the kernel 2.6.*686 to 2.6.*486. I now switched back to 2.6.*686 but the problem persists. I only always installed all upgrades with "apt-get upgrade", afaik the kernel switched from 2.6.17.* to 2.6.18.* about the same time I switched to nvidia-glx. I'm willing to do more tests, but I don't have any idea what to test next. ______________________________________________________________________________ "Ein Herz für Kinder" - Ihre Spende hilft!
