The purpose of this Build-Depends seems to be the creation of a flavor-specific xtla-autoload.el. I see two possible solutions to this problem: - Generate the files once when the source package is built, and ship them in the diff.gz. This might be the simpler short-term solution. If emacs-snapshot is too much of a moving target, and the "static" autoload.el file stops to work, then we're not better off with having it statically in the deb, so this is no argument against having it in the diff.gz. - Run configure and generate the autoload files at package install time. AUCteX, another emacs-add on, does this already. Regards, Frank -- Dr. Frank Küster Single Molecule Spectroscopy, Protein Folding @ Inst. f. Biochemie, Univ. Zürich Debian Developer (teTeX/TeXLive)
