I can confirm this one - after last update of my system (Sid, AMD64) DejaVu Sans displays as 'Condensed' variant, even if 'Book' style is set in gnome-font-properties. Moreover - g-f-p now displays 'DejaVu Sans Condensed' string in places where it used to read 'DejaVu Sans' only.
