Package: ttf-dejavu
Version: 2.12-1
Severity: grave
Tags: patch

This version of DejaVu fonts contains condensed fonts with value for
width set to "Medium", but it should really be "Semi-Condensed". New
fontconfig uses this value to select prefered font, and it selects
DejaVu Sans Condensed and DejaVu Serif Condensed as default fonts for
"sans" and "serif". Those fonts contain no instructions, so looks bad on
the screen. Also in some situations it is not possible to select Book
variants at all. See also bugs #401411 and #401443. This bug is fixed in
r1363 in svn repository, patch is also attached to this report.

Note: to see difference after upgrading ttf-dejavu you'll need to
reconfigure fontconfig. But I think it is bug in fontconfig and I
allready reported it (should be in #401411).
