Package: ejabberd
Version: 1.1.2-3
Severity: grave
Justification: renders package unusable
I'm using the same configuration that has been working for ages:
{auth_method, ldap}.
{ldap_servers, ["127.0.0.1"]}. % List of LDAP servers
{ldap_port, 389}.
{ldap_uidattr, "uid"}. % LDAP attribute that holds user ID
{ldap_base, "ou=<...>,dc=<...>,dc=<...>"}. % Search base of LDAP directory
{ldap_rootdn, "cn=<...>r,ou=<...>,dc=<...>,dc=<...>"}. % LDAP manager
{ldap_password, "<...>"}. % Password to LDAP manager
It looks like the ldap stuff was re-worked - so in case it makes any
difference, my passowrds in ldap are thusly:
userPassword: {crypt}$1$<...>
Now, whilst ldapsearch - using the exact same arguments works fine,
*NO* requests from ejabberd work (via web or jabber client) :(
wireshark makes it looks like ejabberd never completely talks to slapd -
I see a *whole* lot of bind-request and bind-response for *each* request...
whereas with ldapsearch it is much more one to one.
#su - ejabberd
$ldapsearch -x -h localhost -p 389 -D'<...>' -w <...> -b '<...>' uid=cowboy
...
userPassword:: <...>
