Yeah, seems to be an unexpected consequence of the recent NMU. I'm working on it. I suspect the "lintian fix" that added debian/compat to be the culprit for this. I'll probably remove it and leave up to the maintainer to better deal with that issue. The build system of canna seems pretty outdated.
