The problem won't show up with a daily image. You need a Beta 3 netinst or full CD image to reproduce this. Reason is that daily and other images will already install the latest version of tzdata during debootstrap (base-installer) and so there won't be an upgrade during tasksel (pkgsel). Also, current d-i images have a fix for this issue in that they "configure" tzdata before pkgsel is run, thereby avoiding the question. In beta 3 this happened only at the very end of the installation. Cheers, FJP
