Hi, the very best would be to modify the package so that the version is determined from what version of evolution -dev packages are installed. That way, a binNMU would be enough.
If that cannot be done, an upload to experimental would be useful so that the evolution 2.8 transition could be carried out in a smoother and safer way. Cheers, Øystein Gisnås
