FYI, my custom packages at work (which add MIBs) do something along the lines of $_mibdir=/usr/share/snmp/mibs [ $_mibdir -nt $_mibdir/.index ] && snmptranslate -M $_mibdir -mall 1.3.6.1.2.1.1.1.0 >/dev/null 2>&1 at postinstall time. > The lib should rely on a > valid .index, but never touch the .index even if the file is invalid.
