You should not be using epoll on alpha either, I'm afraid, because it's a 2.6-only syscall and this means upgrades for stable will break for people running the 2.4 kernel from sarge. You also should not be using syscall1 explicitly, you should be using the glibc interfaces... Do you have a reference to why rtsigio is broken only on alpha?
