Seems like there is some issue on your system that is not common.
Probably the dependency is pulled in by some other library. If you
want to find out, try paste the output from:
LD_DEBUG=files evolution
Yes, that was the problem. A library I had custom-compiled in /usr/local/lib dependend on libdbus.so.2. Thanks for your help. I apologize for the inconvenience. :-)
