Package: texlive
Version: 2005.dfsg.1-1
Severity: grave
Justification: renders package unusable
Installing texlive on my system that had tetex installed, simply by
aptitude -tunstable install texlive
failed (at the configuring stage) with the following message:
-----------------------------------------------------------
Настраивается пакет texlive-base-bin (2005.dfsg.1-1) ...
Running mktexlsr. This may take some time... done.
Building format(s) --all . This may take some time...
fmtutil-sys failed. Output has been stored in
/tmp/texlive.fmtutil.dtq18928
Please include this file if you report a bug.
------------------------------------------------------------
In the mentioned file the following error appeared:
------------------------------------------------------------
###############################################################################
fmtutil: Error! Not all formats have been built successfully.
Visit the log files in directory
/var/lib/texmf/web2c
for details.
###############################################################################
This is a summary of all ailed' messages and warnings:
ega -ini -jobname=omega -progname=omega omega.ini' failed
------------------------------------------------------------
I think that this happened because of some configuration files left from the
tetex installation in /etc/texmf/fmt.d
I was able to install texlive anew after I cleanly purged all tetex-* packages
by hands.

tex-common - Common infrastructure for using and building TeX in Debian
Closes: 380323 388399 391355
Changes:
tex-common (0.31) unstable; urgency=medium
.
* Document in policy that font cache data have to be cleaned by packages
that Build-Depend on TeX, and how to do that (closes: #388399) [frank]
* On systems upgraded from woody to sarge, tetex-bin generated a bogus
local configuration file with entries that were erroneously detected
as locally changed. These entries are now harmful and break texlive,
and the file is therefore renamed if it meets our expectations
(closes: #391355) [frank]
* In 95NonPath.cnf, add a comment about how to redump the format file
(closes: #380323) [frank]
