I am seeing this same problem, but I do not have any localization packages installed. It is also only certain files that cause this crash on me. Unfortunately I have not had it crash on a file I can share yet.
Most of my openoffice.org packages are still rc2-2, except for openoffice.org-common & -java-common, which are both at rc3-1. As soon as the rest of the rc3-1 release hits Sid I hope to test them. I'm running Debian unstable on a 32bit AMD XP 3200+ with 2.5GB of ram. Let me know if there is any other information that would be helpful.
