Hello. I see you are using a dkms kernel module from trixie with a new
kernel from backports.

I don't think that's supposed to work, or at least it's not subject to
the same promise that it will work as Debian stable (without backports).

Can you tell if the problem persist after you upgrade tp-smapi-dkms
to the version in testing/unstable? (i.e. version 0.45-1)

If yes, then this is indeed a serious bug in testing/sid.

But if not, the issue could reasonably be considered as fixed in
version 0.45-1 and the proper solution for your problem would be to
ask for the package to be also present in trixie-backports.

(Note: I'm a casual observer here, not the maintainer).
