Given the failure message, it is likely that it would also be an
explicit error (not a silently wrong answer) in actual use. Hence, I

Sounds reasonable to me.
I don't know enough about this package to say whether removing the
package on 32-bit architectures would be a better idea.
I don't think that's possible, since it's Architecture: all. (Well, it
could be made Architecture: any, but I'm not sure I'm fond of that as an
approach.)
