The Debian GNOME team will be uploading GNOME Shell 49 to Unstable
"soon". It is currently available in experimental.
It looks like gnome-shell-extension-appindicator was missed in jbicha's
mini-mass-bug-filing. v61 has been released upstream and declares
compatibility with Shell v49; it appears that the packaging just needs
updating.
