this worked fine, but broke after a recent dist-upgrade (not sure if
thunderbird was directly upgraded).

* I am using xorg 6.8.2.

* I am currrently using E17 windows manager, but I saw the same problem
with KDE.

When you've got a versioned closes, you can't close it unversioned afterwards
(at least, not in a fashion the version tracking on bts.turmzimmer.net will
understand) without first reopening it. I'm marking it as closed in the
version currently in etch, which should get this off the radar.
