Source: hwloc-contrib
Version: 2.12.0-1
Severity: serious
Tags: ftbfs
Justification: fails to build from source

Hi,

while rebuilding all packages build-depending on nvidia-cuda-toolkit,
hwloc-contrib did FTBFS with a failing test:

FAIL: hwloc_type_sscanf
=======================

****************************************************************************
* hwloc 2.12.0 received invalid information from the operating system.
*
* Failed with error: intersection without inclusion
* while inserting Group0 (P#8 subtype Cluster groupkind 222-0 cpuset 0x00000f00)
* at L1d (P#8 cpuset 0x00000103)
* coming from: linux:sysfs:cluster
*
* The following FAQ entry in the hwloc documentation may help:
* What should I do when hwloc reports "operating system" warnings?
* Otherwise please report this error message to the hwloc user's mailing list,
* along with the files generated by the hwloc-gather-topology script.
*
* hwloc will now ignore this invalid topology information and continue.
****************************************************************************
hwloc_type_sscanf: hwloc_type_sscanf.c:40: _check: Assertion `depth == (int)
obj->depth' failed.
Aborted (core dumped)
FAIL hwloc_type_sscanf (exit status: 134)

Divination told me that perhaps the attached patch could help?

That patch fixed the failed assertion, but then the build ran into another problem ...

Anyway, after a bios update (and switching to Linux 6.12.25) the system no longer confuses hwloc and hwloc-contrib builds fine again (without this patch)
