Hi, thanks for reply, what do you suggest?

From a fast look upstream seems to don't have a six removal in commits and PR.

Alternative can be replacing python-pampy with python-pam in cinnamon but from a fast look python-pam have latest upstream version over 20 years ago (seems upstream is now missed), so I don't think is good, it could be less bad that add python3-six here?

Please note: python-pampy != python-pam:

  * python-pampy is a PAM authentication client (check a password via
    PAM if valid or not)
  * python-pam is for writing your own PAM module in Python

Major of cinnamon users of Debian testing and unstable have (or will have) important issue because of this (control panel not starting) and the ones non-beginners will install python3-six or python-pam as workaround, I want to find a solution soon so that also beginners have it working.

See Alexander Diste's follow-up mail. I can try to provide an upload soonish.

Any advice on how best to proceed is appreciated.

Mike
