mdanalysis 2.8.0-4 is now passing tests. The only change was to run tests verbose, so perhaps the fix was made in numpy2 or multiprocessing.
1096176 may have been fixed by mdanalysis 2.8.0. I think we can close these bugs now, unless you're seeing any other problems. Drew
