Reported and fixed upstream, https://gitlab.kitware.com/vtk/vtk/-/merge_requests/11486 Found also in paraview, which shamefully ships its own vtk and needs the same patch. There is also the problem https://gitlab.kitware.com/vtk/vtk/-/issues/19468 also fixed https://gitlab.kitware.com/vtk/vtk/-/merge_requests/11494 Both these patches landed in vtk 9.4, so the simplest fix is to upgrade to the latest upstream release.
