Thanks for the detailed bug report. What the UI should be doing is enable/disable the (open)ssh service. There are some debian-specific bits involved overridden at: https://sources.debian.org/src/gnome-control-center/1%3A47.2-3/debian/rules/#L4 Could you please check if you actually have the openssh-server package installed and what the status is of your ssh.service? dpkg -l openssh-server systemctl status ssh Regards, Andreas Henriksson
