Hi! I submitted fix upstream in https://github.com/cli/cli/pull/10151 and will backport into Debian and coming days. This could be a bit faster if the existing package maintainer replies to email this week. I don't feel confident doing changes in packages and uploading them without some coordination with previous maintainer.
