The problem is further up in the log you linked to: W: using a non-empty suite name testing does not make sense with this hook and might select the wrong Essential:yes package set mmdebstrap selects the set of Essential:yes packages from the mirror coming from the selected suite name, unless the provided suite name is the empty string. But the sbuild autopkgtest script in debian/tests/unshare passes "$release" to mmdebstrap. Instead it should use the empty string so that the copy-host-apt-sources-and-preferences hook can do its job. Thus, reassigning this bug to sbuild. Thanks! cheers, josch
